Rebuilding: We can rebuild components or the entire machine. A complete rebuild starts with disassembly of all machine components. All items of every component will be replaced or reworked to a new condition. All belts, bearings and seals will be replaced with new parts regardless of their condition. All ways will be ground and hand-scraped. Way material can be replaced when required. When the machine is completed it will be aligned to factory tolerances or better. We can rebuild any machine tool from a small bench top lathe to a Gantry mill and everything in between. We can rebuild production or custom-made machines. All work performed by Studwell is guaranteed for one year.
Retrofitting: Retrofit can mean anything from converting your old D.C. drives to modern A.C. drives or converting your old manual machine to a completely modern CNC machine. We can take your old N.C. or CNC machine and update it with a new control. For those that do not need a full CNC control, we have experience retrofitting manual machines to do custom production work. Field Service: Studwell has the knowledge, tools, portable lifting equipment, and precision measuring instruments to perform field service on all types of machinery. Call us to get your machine tool back in proper working order and ensure it stays in good condition.
Installation & Relocation: Moving an entire company or just one piece of equipment can be a daunting task. We can work directly with your machinery mover or we will be glad to do a turnkey move and contract our own movers. We work with only top quality vendors in the area and can perform complete relocation including foundation, design and construction, painting, rigging and electrical. Studwell can design custom machine foundations and supervise their construction. Below is a before and after picture of a foundation we designed for a spin lathe, it was 15 feet thick with an area of about 1500 square feet.
Alignment with lasers: We have used our Optodyne laser measurement tool to align machines with error tolerances as tight as .000025” on the full length of travel. Laser measurement is helpful during rebuilds, and our technicians can also perform laser alignments in the field.
DRO: We are capable of repairing all DRO’s. We are also an authorized Acu-Rite dealer.
RATES: Studwell can produce quotations for machine rebuilds at your request. In some cases we will have to send out a consultant to inspect the machine.

- $157.50/hour overtime and Saturday .
- $210.00/hour Sunday.
- No holidays .
- Parts are billed at cost plus 20% plus shipping and taxes
- Sublet charges are billed at cost plus 20% .
- For jobs outside of Los Angeles/Southern California that require overnight stays: Hotel, meals, car rental and shipping are billed at cost plus 20%.
- Studwell does not quote repair work. Our terms for service repair work are hourly portal to portal.
- Studwell's terms are Net 15.
